To all of the Stanford football fans who turned out at the Stanford Alumni Association Rose Bowl tailgate, we thank you for your staunch commitment to Stanford and our football team. You have again shown the world that Stanford alumni are truly unique. Our goal was to create a tailgate pre-game experience that would meet and, ideally, exceed your expectations. For some of you we did neither, and for this I sincerely apologize.
While we intended to deliver an extraordinary tailgate experience for all 15,000 of you, we know we fell short of our commitment to unwavering customer service. In planning for this event, we worked with the caterer who served us so well last year at the Fiesta Bowl. Despite our best efforts, there were significant issues with our food service at the Stanford tailgate and we apologize to everyone we let down.
To those of you who were unable to get food at the tailgate, we would like to offer a refund of your tailgate ticket. Please reply to email@example.com and we will process your refund as quickly as possible. Note: the refund will go to the primary registrant, the person who paid for the tailgate ticket.
Please know that we are working closely with our caterer to fully understand the issues that led to this problem in order to gain knowledge that will help inform future events. The alumni experience is always the top priority to me and my staff.
Finally, thank you for turning out to celebrate Stanford's first Rose Bowl win in 41 years. The Stanford family is starting 2013 with pride in this achievement.
Feel free to get back to me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org with any thoughts, suggestions, comments or feedback you wish to share. And, once again, please accept my apologies for not getting the tailgate entirely right yesterday.
